When I visited Home of Love of Missionaries of Charity, Nam Cheong Community on 29 May 2010, I was inspired to have a project “House of Love and Prayer” in the future. I didn’t have any concrete idea how it will be. Later on, I was thinking about a place for prayer and hospitality ministry.
As one of the readers of my blog was asking the telephone number of Trappistine Rawaseneng-Indonesia, I also checked the website of Trappistine Gedono-Indonesia http://www.gedono.trappist-rawaseneng.org. They named their monastery as “Sekolah Cinta Kasih” (=School of God’s Love). It’s inspired me to the idea of “School of Love and Prayer.”
After learning from School of Healing Prayer Level 1 off campus http://www.christianhealingmin.org/categories.asp?cat=51, I usually offer to pray together with the people who ask me to pray for them. It means I will offer he/she to say his/her own prayer in the middle of our prayer. By praying together, I learned to be humble as the prayer is answered because of our prayer instead of my prayer. Besides, the person knows better about his/her deep desire. Francis MacNutt said: "who will get healed and when (and why some people get healed and others do not) is a mystery. Our job is just stay obedient, do what we can, and leave the rest up to God."
After praying together three times over the phone in less than 24 hours on Feb 14-15, 2010, I got the idea to launch a prayer line through internet. It’s the first ministry of the School of Love and Prayer.
The prayer line will be available in both English and Indonesian at Yahoo Messenger ID schoolofloveandprayer@yahoo.com on Wednesdays 9.00 am - 5.00 pm (Hong Kong time, GMT+8). For more details information can be read at http://anastasialindawatimm.blogspot.com/2011/03/information-prayer-line-of-school-of.html.

Hopefully this simple project will be 24/7 prayer line. Of course, it will need many prayer line ministers around the world, religious and lay persons, who are willing to pray with our brothers and sisters. It will need at least (24 x 7) - 3 = 165 persons if one person is willing to spend one hour per week. A simple handout will be sent to all ministers including the prayer and how to access the prayer line. Learning from School of Healing Prayer either on or off campus would be very helpful.
School of Love and Prayer is not an institutional school but hopefully it will become the place to learn how to love our neighbours and pray with humility. As Francis MacNutt said, “Christians often concentrate on the future and going to heaven. This can divert us from concentrating on the present and bringing the kingdom of God to earth. We are not just trying to escape a wicked world, but God has sent us his power in the Spirit to transform the evil in the world. This attitude is modeled in the Lord’s prayer: The kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
Give me a man of prayer and he will be capable of anything. He may say with the apostle, “I can do all things in him who strengthens me.” (St. Vincent de Paul)
